Oikos Home Services was founded in 2024 by Garr and Jessica Owens with a clear purpose: to help real estate professionals and homeowners navigate the often-stressful period between inspection and closing. But our story goes deeper than business.
The name "Oikos" carries special meaning for our family. It's a Greek word meaning "home" or "household," but it also represents something more personal—a tribute to Daniel Orshaw, a beloved family patriarch known to many as Dad, Grandad, Husband, Pastor Dan, and friend to all.
Daniel frequently spoke about your "oikos"—your inner circle of people and how they influence your daily life. He taught us that family extends beyond bloodlines to encompass the community you build and serve. His wisdom shaped not only our values but our vision for this company.
By naming our business Oikos Home Services, we honor his memory and commit to the principles he lived by: care, responsibility, stewardship, and treating everyone like family. We want you to be part of our Oikos community—a place where everyone feels they truly belong.

Garr is a Master Carpenter with deep experience in residential construction and a background as a leader in the home inspection industry. He brings a rare combination of build-side craftsmanship and inspection-side knowledge to every project. He knows what inspectors look for, and he knows how to fix it right the first time.
Jessica Owens
COO
Jessica brings more than a decade of experience in administration, property management, and office leadership. She keeps Oikos running with the same care and accountability that goes into the field work. Clients work with a company that communicates, follows through, and stays organized because Jessica makes sure of it.
